::Academic Updates::
 
::English::
We will be doing "Writing Workshops" for the remainder of the year. We will continue writing descriptions of places, events, and people. We will also complete instructional writing.


  ::Math::

In math we will continue adding and subtracting two digit numbers WITHOUT regrouping. For example 11+76= 87 does not require "borrowing" or "carrying." We will also be touching on money and time before the year is over.

Having your child find pages in the hundreds will help them with place value.

 
::Reading::
 
We are continuing to work on comprehension and fluency.
 
Please be sure to read nightly for at least 10 minutes and log it on the book log.
 
 
::Science::

We will continue learning all about animals.

 
::Spelling:: 

You can check out our spelling page for spelling words each week. Children will be expected to apply their spelling words after we have learned them. 


::Social Studies::
 
In Social Studies we are moving into geography. We will be studying the Earth and it's landforms as well as countries, states, cities, etc. at a *basic* level.
